Classic typewriter ribbons were inked fabric wound on a reel, movie film-style. The trick was to string the end of the ribbon from one reel to the other, through the guide, without getting too much ink on your fingers. The IBM Selectric, ball-type writer, provided the ribbon in a cartridge, rather than a reel. Attach:http://farm1.static.flickr.com/42/77494610_db2036004b.jpg Δ?v=0Attach:image.jpg Δ Δ
