Common Sense

Field General
Went Obsolete Middle part of the 20th century
Made Obsolete By The invention of the lawyer/lawsuit
Knowledge Assumed None
When useful Everyday

Unfortunately not too common any more.

Common sense is still here today but unfortunately under used by individuals. As stated above Lawyers and Law Suits have put individuals in a position of trusting some of claimed authority because of a piece of paper.

Remember the Wizard of Oz where the Strawman wanted a brain. Only to be handed a piece of paper by the all powerful Wizard. The Strawman proved himself numerous time throughout the trip on the Yellow Brick Road. He never needed the paper to begin with from a man with no special powers.

However, back to Common Sense. It is best defined as being self evident. To further illustrate the point is to say the cause and effects commonly effect everyone. A few examples are as such:

1 - If someone hits someone else this becomes self evident by the results of the receiving party who will sustain evident physical damage either minor or major. Everyone can witness the result. Whethter the actions were witnessed or not.

2 - If someone damages someones property i.e. like kicking down someones' fence. Again anyone who has witnessed the event will see the results. Even if an individual did not directly see the event the evident damage has been done.

3 - If someone retricts someones freedom, this in its simplest terms would be to limit someone from do something. A simple example is freedom of movement. If someone stops another individual from moving in there intended direction this is again self evident. when witnessed.

However, freedom of movement can be a little more difficult to measure if not witnessed. Unless conspicious obstacles are in the way.

One of the simples forms of common sense is that of the 10 Commandments. In principle it is self evident without being religious. However, there are many principles illustrating self evident truths.

I hope this has added some clarity in the convoluted times of the abandonment of Common Sense.
