All blueprints and schematic were once drawn by hand with pencils, pens, T-squares, triangles, stencils, calipers and compasses, and scales. This drafting was painfully slow, occasionally inaccurate, but high-paid skill. CAD software offered the ability to easily edit and scale drawings without needing to completely redraft them.
