Visual Basic 3.0 was released by Microsoft in the early 90s. It was the only 16-bit version of this programming language and was designed to run on Windows 3.1. Including some very impressive features compared to earlier versions that were designed for DOS, it was entirely eclipsed by the immense changover to Windows 95 and, later, 98. Visual Basic 4, 5, and 6 were later made for these new Windows 9x OS platforms.

– Visual Basic 1 and 2 were both also 16-bit, designed for Windows 3.x.
